Professor Christopher Ham CBE DL
Chris Ham is chief executive of The King’s Fund and emeritus professor of health policy and management at the University of Birmingham. He has held posts at a number of universities and was director of strategy in The Department of Health between 2000 and 2004, working with ministers on NHS reform.
Chris is an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of General Practitioners. He was a non-executive director on the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust between 2007 and 2010. He has advised the World Bank and the World Health Organisation and served as a consultant on health services reform to governments in a number of countries.
He is the author of over 20 books and a regular contributor to TV and radio programmes on the NHS. He was awarded a CBE for his services to the NHS in 2004 and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Kent in 2014.
