Azad Choudhury was the Founder and President of the Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) in Birmingham from 1986-1992.
The BCA created awareness of health and safety with many restaurant owners and staff attending food hygiene and safety courses. In addition, the enterprise helped the Bangladeshi community in Birmingham with education and job opportunities.
As a member of Rotary International- Birmingham Club, Azad has helped raise funds and awareness through charitable endeavours.
This led to the opening, in 2007, of the Azad Choudhury Academy, that is the only school in rural Sylhet, Bangladesh, which provides education from pre-school up to secondary levels.
The school has repeatedly achieved 100% pass rate in public examinations, and acts as a catalyst for health awareness for the surrounding community, as well as fund-raising for essential welfare, such as blankets, glasses.
