Tim is the Honorary Surgeon to HM the King. His career has taken him from Westminster Medical School, commissioned in the Royal Army Medical Corps, through to his present role of Surgeon General, which is the senior technical authority for all clinical matters in defence. He is the Chair of Committee of Medical Chiefs in NATO, having been unanimously elected and is the senior medical representative in the Alliance.
Tim has published extensively (books & journal articles) and regularly lectures internationally as a keynote speaker on leadership, innovation at pace, disaster medicine and combat casualty care.
He is a Trustee for The Poppy Factory, London’s Air ambulance and CitizenAID.
Tim was honoured with a Companion of the Order of the Bath in The King’s Birthday Honours in 2023. He was made CBE in 2009 and has received many awards and accolades at home and abroad.
